INDIANAPOLIS – June 24, 2014 – The Stone-Campbell Journal will sponsor its annual lecture at the North American Christian Convention in Indianapolis in July.
Dr. Paul J. Kissling, Professor of Old Testament at Lincoln Christian Seminary, will speak Wednesday, July 9 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. in Room 103, Indiana Convention Center, Indianapolis.
The topic for the lecture is: “Ezra: God’s Man at a Critical Time.”
Information on the lecture will be included in the NACC program guide and is free for NACC attendees.
Dr. Kissling, who is one of the premier scholars among the Christian churches, is heavily involved in examining OT texts in refreshingly new ways. He was co-editor of the groundbreaking College Press NIV Commentary, contributing the two volumes on Genesis (2004; 2009).
He authored the article on Ezra in the ACU One-Volume Bible Commentary (2009) and recently has co-edited three volumes, two on preaching from the Old Testament. He earned his Ph.D. in Hebrew Bible from the University of Sheffield, his Th.M. in OT from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, his M.Div. in OT from Lincoln Christian Seminary and his B.Rel. from Great Lakes Christian College. He has been on the editorial board for Stone-Campbell Journal since its beginning in 1998.
